Wilkinson Carmody and Gilliam has maintained a tradition of excellence in the practice of law in Shreveport, Louisiana since the firm was established in 1895. For over one hundred years, our firm has maintained a broad civil practice which includes transportation and railroad law, corporate and commercial litigation, employment law, medical malpractice defense, oil and gas law, utility and regulatory law, and insurance defense.
The firm traces its origin to January 1, 1895, when a partnership was formed by John Dallas Wilkinson and A.T. Alexander. Our attorneys have historically practiced in a wide variety of federal, state and local areas of law with an emphasis on litigation. We are proud of the legal abilities and personal qualities of its attorneys, who, among past and present members, include an Associate Justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court, an appellate judge on the Louisiana Second Circuit Court of Appeal, a Mayor of Shreveport, a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, a founder of the Federal Power Bar Association and a chairman of the governing boards of several educational institutions.
